Settings reference
Every setting, where it lives, and what it stores. Option names are given so you can set them with WP-CLI or a deployment script.
Saved options outlive defaults: changing a default in a new version does nothing to an existing install, because that install already has its own value in the database. Migrations run on version change and never touch a taxonomy you registered yourself.
Folders and categories #
VergeLabs Library → Settings → Folders and categories · requires manage_options
Which taxonomies exist, which apply to media, and how each behaves.
Stored in vergeml_taxonomies, keyed by taxonomy name. Per taxonomy:

admin_filter | 1 | A filter in the list-view filter bar |

Page builders #
There is no setting. The tree is added to a supported builder's media popup when its editor loads. See Compatibility.
Media Utilities #
Settings → Media Utilities (in the WordPress Settings menu)
- Export settings — writes the plugin's settings to a file.
- Import settings — reads one back. Use this to set up a second site the same way; use WordPress's own export/import for content.
- Restore defaults.
- Complete Cleanup — wipes the plugin's own data now. Never touches a media file.
- Also remove all folders, settings and the AI index when the plugin is deleted
(
vergeml_uninstall_wipe) — makes deleting the plugin take its data with it. Off by default. - System report — what to paste into a support request. Filterable with
vergeml_system_report.
Safe mode is not a setting; see Troubleshooting.
File types #
VergeLabs Library → Settings → File types · requires manage_options
Stored in vergeml_mimes. Per type:
- The extension
- Its MIME string
- A singular and plural label
- Whether uploading it is allowed
- Whether it appears in the media filters
Add, remove, rename, allow or disallow, and fold a type into the filter bar.
AI #
VergeLabs Library → AI · settings require manage_options
Stored in vergeml_ai:
| Key | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
license_key | '' | Sealed at rest. Write-only through REST, masked in the UI |
site_profile | '' | What the site is about, in your words. Sent with each description |
auto_alt | 1 | Write alt text as descriptions arrive, where alt is empty |
enrich_search | 1 | Let descriptions widen library search |
page_context | 1 | Send page title and SEO wording with a description |
mock | 0 | Demo mode: captions invented locally, nothing sent |
On a network, vergeml_ai_network (a site option) holds a network-wide
license_key and a lock flag. A site's own key wins unless the network locks it.
Multisite network settings #
Network Admin · requires manage_network_options
Chooses which of the above individual site administrators may change, and holds the network-wide licence key. Network activation provisions every existing site and any site created later.
Constants #
Settings that belong in wp-config.php rather than in a screen are listed in
Hooks and constants.
