# VergeLabs Media Library > A WordPress plugin for the media library: folders, categories and tags, plus alt text and captions written by AI. The plugin is free (GPLv2 or later) and complete; the AI is a paid service used through credits. It is a maintained fork of Enhanced Media Library, not affiliated with wpUXsolutions. ## Free, no account needed - A folder tree beside the media library: in the grid, the list view and the media window used to insert images into posts. - Drag and drop to file, rename in place, colour and order folders. A file can be in more than one folder. - Folders are ordinary WordPress terms (the `media_category` taxonomy), not a private table, so they stay intact if the plugin is removed. - Smart folders: Unused media, Missing alt text, Large files, Unattached, This month. - A folder can be a gallery: a block, an Elementor, Divi or WPBakery element, or the `[vergeml_gallery]` shortcode. New images in the folder appear on every page that uses it. - Import folders from other folder plugins, and from CSV, with a preview first and an undo. Settings from Enhanced Media Library are copied when the plugin is activated. - Categories, tags and custom taxonomies for media, with filters in the grid and list; file type (MIME) management; duplicate detection. - Current version 4.1.0. Works with WordPress 6.5 to 7.1, PHP 7.4 to 8.5, multisite, Polylang and WPML. ## Paid: the AI service - Alt text and captions written from what the picture shows and the page it is on. Only empty alt text is filled; existing alt text stays. - Proposing folders from what the pictures show, shown for approval before anything is filed, with a full undo: 10 credits. - Plan my folders (new in 4.1.0): a whole folder tree built from what the pictures show, for 30 credits plus 15 per 100 distinct labels. The price is on the button. A plan that isn't shown (it doesn't beat your folders, it doesn't arrive, or you confirm your tree while it runs) has its credits refunded, once per site every 30 days. A plan that fails on our side is always refunded. After a tree is confirmed, new folders for new pictures cost nothing. - Profiling a confirmed tree: the first 100 folders are free, then 1 credit per 6 folders. - Search by meaning: find pictures by describing them. It costs no credits. - One credit describes one picture. Re-filing and talking to the folder planner cost nothing. Every site can try it free on 25 pictures, without a card. ## Prices (euros; VAT added where it applies) - Credits alone, in packs: 500 for €10, 1,000 for €18, 2,000 for €34, 5,000 for €70, 20,000 for €240. - Pro, one site: €39 a year, 2,000 credits a year included. - Pro, five sites: €79 a year, 5,000 credits a year, shared. - Agency, up to 25 sites: €399 a year, 20,000 credits a year, one licence key for the whole network, which can be locked. - Lifetime, one site: €149 once, 2,000 credits a year, limited to 100 licences. - Yearly plans can be cancelled any time.
